Dear Participants,

The third edition of the Special Topics in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Congress, organized by the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Health Sciences, Lokman Hekim University, will take place this year with the theme “40 Questions About Orthoses”. This conference, which will be held in person in Ankara on November 21-22, 2025, will address innovations, current studies, and multidisciplinary approaches in orthotics.

During the congress, panels featuring experienced speakers in their fields will discuss in detail the process of deciding on orthotics and treatment methods for different pathological conditions, the latest innovations will be presented, and solutions to encountered problems will be sought through interactive discussions. Additionally, the rich scientific program will be complemented by workshops to enhance knowledge sharing.

Our congress will be attended by specialist physicians, physical therapists, prosthetics and orthotics specialists, occupational therapists, podiatrists, and students in these fields who have various collaborations in orthotics production and application. Abstracts will be accepted after peer review, and accepted abstracts may be presented as oral presentations at the congress. Accepted papers presented at the congress will be published in the Turkish Journal of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.

We hope that the Special Topics in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Congress will be well attended and productive for all of us, and we invite you to share your knowledge and experience at our congress.

Paper Guidelines

Accepted papers presented at the conference will be published in the Turkish Journal of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.

Papers to be presented at the conference should be original research studies that contribute to scientific development.

Writing Guidelines:

• Papers will be accepted after peer review, and accepted papers may be presented orally at the conference.
• For an accepted paper to be presented at the conference, at least one of the paper authors must have registered for the conference and paid the registration fee. Additionally, the presenter must be a member of the Turkish Physical Therapists Association and have no outstanding dues (applicable only to physical therapists).
• All abstract submissions must be made as Word files via the link [email protected].
• Abstracts must be prepared in both Turkish and English.
• Abstracts should be written in Times New Roman font, 12-point size, and 1.5 line spacing.
• Academic titles should not be used in author names.
• Names should be written in lowercase letters with only the first letter capitalized (Mxxx Yxxx1). The author who will present the paper should be indicated with an underline.
• The names and addresses of the institutions where the authors work must be specified (1Xxxx University Faculty of Medicine, Xxxx Department, Ankara).
• The email addresses of the authors must be clearly stated, and the information should be added using upper-case numbering for each author.
• The title of the abstract should be written in bold with only the first letter capitalized. Abbreviations should be avoided in the title whenever possible (Xxxxx xxxx xxxxxx xxxx xxxx).
• The English title of the article should be added at the beginning of the English abstract.
• Turkish and English abstracts should not exceed 250 words, excluding the title and author information.
• Abstracts should include the following headings: Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
• Abbreviations should be avoided as much as possible in the abstract. If abbreviations are used, the term should be written in full when first used, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
• The abstract should briefly state the purpose of the study and the methods used. P values should be given in parentheses in the findings, and the results should be explained in the context of the findings.
• Decimal numbers given as averages and percentages should have two digits after the decimal point (e.g., 20.10%). Values other than averages, percentages, and medians (p-values or r/rho) should be written with three digits after the decimal point (e.g., p=0.028 or r=0.635).
• The heading “Keywords” should appear at the end of the abstract. Keywords should be selected from “MeSH (Medical Subject Headings)” terms. Each keyword should begin with a capital letter, be separated by commas, and listed in alphabetical order. The number of keywords should not be less than 3 or more than 5.
• The keywords in the Turkish and English abstracts must be identical.
• Papers must be presented at the conference in order to be published.

Oral Presentation Rules

• Oral presentations must be prepared in Turkish in PowerPoint format.
• Oral presentations, including discussion, should not exceed 10 minutes.

Paper Evaluation

All evaluations will be conducted by independent reviewers who will keep the researchers' names and affiliations confidential. Information regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection will be communicated via email.
